Is It All Over For Conservatives In America?

Who is in power vacillates with who's perceived to have done the most harm recently, or who's going to do better with the challenges facing the country, whether it be war, economy, etc. Good leaders can be found in either party, and good ideas can be found in either party, what matters now is if they can overcome the huge momentum of negative partisan-ship that's got a stranglehold on their ability to work effectively together to come to solutions that are for the better of all, to realize that to compromise doesn't mean sacrificing principles.

The big problem now isn't that Democrats are evil, or Republicans are evil, it's that those in power and with money are making this country more and more lopsided between the Haves and the Have-Nots. It's not R vs D, it's class disparity and unfair opportunity vs power and unfair advantage. If that can be re-balanced (likely not without major upheaval), then it will go back to a back and forth between liberals and conservatives again.

I agree 100% (and you know me, so you know where hence I come from). But when you have inane comments from folks like "fly off the handle" like "Tough when half are nuts" sometimes you just have to get into the gutter and play their juvenile games.

We now have a real Political Class, the new 1% and blaming "old folks" (on either side) for the state of our union, as if "old folks" are not capable of thinking rationally, is a cheap shot from someone who hasn't matured yet.

Many "old folks" have a better understanding of the world then any of the "invincible" youth who are just waking up to the fact that while their backs were turned, they were getting screwed.

Wisdom counts for a lot.

I agree older people do have more wisdom as long as they aren't too old. When I think of stupid old people in Congress, I think of people who have grown old in Washington, on our dime, without good results. The longer they plant their asses in those seats in Congress, the more complacent they get about our problems and the more they get concerned about their own job security.

The young people of this country (my kids included) deserve a responsible government that stops kicking every problem down the road. Both parties need to be cleaned out and replaced with non-career people who have real experience in the real world, then get replaced no later than the president. Bragging about having decades of experience in Washington is like bragging about being a whore house veteran.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
