It's not like it has a shot in hell, but this shouldn't be a partisan issue. Seriously, aren't we all sick of bought-and-paid-for politicians? So I think there are more Republicans ones, you think there are more Democrats - shouldn't they all get cut off from the teat?

But yeah...Of Course-Remove ALL SPECIAL INTEREST MONEY FROM POLITICS- It goes without saying, unless your talking to an idiot with early stage dementia that is
Please explain to me how you are going to separate money. Dissemination of speech requires a capital investment. The editorial page of the Dener Post. Are you going to stop them from commenting on politics or endorsing candidates too? Are you going to stop individuals from purchasing ads, or printing up signs, or sending letters which proclaim a preference for one candidate over another for a public office? Of course not, the first amendment to the Constitution prohibits the silencing of speech, particularly political speech. Whether the party in question is a single individual or a group of individuals matters not in the least.
The decision in Citizens United says that the government has no say over how individuals choose to spend their money in the dissemination of their political speech. They may not coordinate with the candidate for office, or their campaign, but they are allowed to express their individual preference for one candidate over another. You want to give the government control over who can speak and who cannot? Truly? That's a frightening thought.
Think Big Media will support this? They make billions on campaign commercials. If you take away the funding for those annoying ads, I would expect news editorials saying they are attacking 1st Amendment.

Let's see. I think this went as far as the Supreme Court and they are the last say on law in this country. Are you suggesting that this law be overturned somehow?
