The young people that everyone needs to sign up barely follow the news telling them they have to.
They really need to raise the fine for not joining faster, then the rumor would get around the high schools that next year the kids need to pay for everyone's health care. Now that I typed that, they really should be marketing this in the High Schools, not to older adults who are looking for those high school kids to subsidized them.
But then again, that generation has to be employed for you to fine them on their taxes. You cannot fine someone via their taxes when they are exempt from filing because they are unemployed and are less and less likely to find a job, especially one where we can get taxes from them (non min wage).
Even though I am not a supporter, it will take far more time for this to fail and those in power may never admit it when it does. So the right that is opposed should also be more focused on marketing to youth, it will be an uphill battle marketing to adults that they should pay more so the kids don't have to make up the difference.
And why would youth listen? They can stay on their parents insurance until they are 26 or if unemployed they can get health insurance for free. Why work?
Good reminder, I forgot that other huge incentive not to work or contribute to the program they are actually supposed to fund because the old folks don't like expensive health care (or rather don't like paying for it).
