"CARACAS — Thousands of Venezuelans lined up outside the country's equivalent of Best Buy, a chain of electronics stores known as Daka, hoping for a bargain after the socialist government forced the company to charge customers "fair" prices.

President Nicolás Maduro ordered a military "occupation" of the company's five stores as he continues the government's crackdown on an "economic war" it says is being waged against the country, with the help of Washington.

Members of Venezuela's National Guard, some of whom carried assault rifles, kept order at the stores as bargain hunters rushed to get inside.

"I want a Sony plasma television for the house," said Amanda Lisboa, 34, a business administrator, who had waited seven hours already outside one Caracas store. "It's going to be so cheap!"...

Yes, that will encourage even more businesses to leave.

You know what would be worse than forcing a company to sell at a price (I assume Americans know this is common in our country, from Cigs to Milk, with the same negative consequences.

The only thing worse would be forcing people to buy things. Worse than that would be forcing people to use a significant portion of their income to buy things. Worse than that, being force to buy things you could not afford to finance someone elses crap (ACA).

But cigs and milk are different are the not? The government doesn't force a manufacturer or retailer to sell cigarettes at a certain price, it just adds a tax. And milk producers gets a subsidy to keep the price lower.
But you're right about the ACA being worse... it goes against everything this country was founded on. But if Dems had their way, I think they would want control of what the big evil corporations charged for their products and services... leaving only enough evil profit to just barely stay afloat.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
