Looks like very rocky waters for Obama's big bill. How do you think it will turn out?
Will it be scrapped after the 2014 elections? Will it be heavily modified because of the website issues and sticker shock Americans are seeing?
Or is it to the point that it is impossible to stop and Americans will just get used to it?
Realistically I think it will continue with tweaks that make it even more of a drain on the budget.
And it is staggered so that only a few million people at a time are left without insurance.
Or yesterday we even saw a very secure Diane Feinstein in a very blue state upset that over one million Californians are being stripped of their insurance and is joining a bill to delay the fines and let people continue to use their old insurance. If even people like Bill Clinton are saying this is crap, does ACA have any hope?

I predict it continues on and morphs into an expensive dysfunctional hybrid of Medicaid and high risk insurance pool. Also predict some insurers dropping out in 2015 because of costs/regulations making it unworkable.
Probably see some more off-exchange products and concierge docs too.
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.
I could really see a two tier future system. People with money and/or good jobs will have private health insurance, but most Americans will be stuck with a Medicaid like product.
Irony? Under Obama, the middle class will be split, and the lower class will expand.

It is only Nov 13th, we have time for 2-5 more distracting crises this year alone. Most Americans are just too busy to even care about this. The small portion of the population getting cancelled does not have the numbers to do anything on its own, it is smaller than those wrongfully in prison. Most of the rest of us are to busy putting out real fires in our own lives and paying for other other govt mandates. Fun to talk about, easy to criticize, no time to make a difference for anyone, even cancer patients with tubes walking down the highway, just another news story, not a reason to change things.
The law was not about functioning, it has to function in some form eventually so it does not get booted, but they will get that far. The law was about getting the spending decision for that portion of your money away from you and to the people that can do it better....them. That aspect of the law is working perfectly and there is little to no real resistance, despite some real dislike, just a lot of talk and a few people that will pay fines and feel better about themselves, but that will be the end of their protest.
One thing the govt never does well is admit is was wrong. I think it is important to note how many hours have been spent on this by all, how much has been spent and if it is scrapped, that number will be talked about for a long time. They have likely spent more on this than they will admit, likely 3-10x what anyone would even predict so far. To backtrack may be the right thing, but that would involve admitting wrong and owning up to waste, I think most in govt would sooner sacrifice half the population.
Here to stay for some time, slight mods so that those in power can get more of the same. JUST LIKE ALL OTHER BILLS and modifications - local to federal, because humans are.....human.
I would love it if it worked, but I also understand math and knew from the beginning it was a bad formula that was constructed by people who didn't understand the whole equation... only their individual parts. It's exactlly like the website... nobody learned a thing and expected all individual elements to come together and somehow work; as if hope was a uniting element. This will be like every other government program where addressing waste and inefficiency is secondary to the utopian goal.
I just feel lucky that I'm not in the middle of chemo worried about whether or not my treatments will get interupted due to this poorly thought out clusterfart. I don't feel like there's any way this law can continue without major changes in the formula unless we're all going to be satisfied with adding this to our children's ever growing debt.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
