"WASHINGTON - A terrifying new ‘game’ that’s already caused deaths in Syracuse, St. Louis and New Jersey is sweeping the nation, and it preys upon unsuspecting people walking the streets, anywhere.
A recent report from New York-based CBS 2 shed light on the growing trend, displaying unsettling footage of teens participating in this game – which goes by the name ‘Knockout’ – and involves randomly targeting passersby, with the ultimate goal being to knock them out with one punch as they walk by.
One victim shown in the footage was 46-year-old Ralph Santiago of Hoboken, N.J., who was found dead"...
A friend of mine shared this with me earlier this week and I am so troubled that these kids have so little thought for the preciousness of life, are so cavalier in the harm they cause. I understand that they may have a life in which there is no value in people, no hope, no respect for life, and I can only hope that they learn otherwise soon and help stop their friends from repeating this kind of tragedy again.

These kids are a product of their parents so in order for them to "learn", they need to be raised by someone esle who cares about their character. But there will be those who offer excuses like being poor or "disadvantaged".. I call BS on those excuses. This is more about punks seeking power and admiration from their punk friends... the only thing they want to learn is how to hit the sweet spot.

I don't disagree that there is a lack of proper teaching happening at home Mr. Rick, but I also firmly believe that there is a societal pressure as well. It's a gross simplification that it's merely the parents' fault - many disadvantaged, poor kids feel that they will always be disadvantaged, that they will always suffer, no matter whether they try or not, and even if they have parents who are working hard to provide them as good a life as they can. What hope is there then? Why bother to try in school, or respect others, or work to improve themselves out of their miserable neighborhoods?
Kids are naturally less empathetic, that's how we are built. Just look at the immense focus on bullying these days. This is just one more form of bullying, no less harmful than girls who harass other girls for how they dress or talk or who they've slept with, to the point that they commit suicide. It takes nurturing to overcome and learn otherwise and that takes parents and society both helping. That's why there have been many welfare-type programs instituted and if they aren't working well enough, then perhaps we should examine why and how to make them better. If they wish "power and admiration", we must ask how else they can achieve that in a constructive, positive way (I think Boys & Girls Clubs are wonderful for this kind of help). Because putting children on a positive, hopeful path where they can create a meaningful life for themselves and in turn help support others is so very preferable.
There are millions of poor kids across the country who don't think it's cool to harm other people for fun. It's just like dogs... I could train a Rotwieller or a pitbull to either be a sweet loving dog, or I could ignore and abuse them to the point where they want to kill whatever moves.
Every kid that gets caught assaulting innocent people should be punished along with their parents who did a lousy job of raising them. We punish dog owners who's dogs kill or harm others, we should be even harder on parents. There isn't much the "collective" can do for these kids unless we can give them better homes with better role models. jmo.

"New York City police authorities are investigating a series of unprovoked physical attacks in public places on people who are Jewish, in the form of what is called "the knockout game."
The way the game is played, one of a number of young blacks decides to show that he can knock down some stranger on the streets, preferably with one punch, as they pass by. Often some other member of the group records the event, so that a video of that "achievement" is put on the Internet, to be celebrated.
The New York authorities describe a recent series of such attacks and, because Jews have been singled out in these attacks, are considering prosecuting these assaults as "hate crimes."...

"Considering"? These are absolutely hate crimes and where the F##k is the DOJ? If Obama had a son, they could look like these worthless punks. Maybe Al Sharpon could pay a visit.. oh wait, he's an anti-semite and a racist. Nevermind.
