Colorado Dog Gets Obamacare Coverage

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Colorado healthcare exchange has processed applications for thousands of people … and one dog.

Shane Smith, of Fort Collins, says his dog Baxter received a letter informing him that a health insurance account had been opened in his name through Connect for Health Colorado.

“I thought, ‘Wow, this is so awesome,’” Smith said with a laugh. “They have gone out of their way to insure my 14-year-old Yorkie.”

I guess the "silver lining" in this story is that Obamacare is "working" good enough to insure one man's dog.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I thought I heard that the Yorkie got coverage because of a security question where it asked the name of the applicant's dog. Funny area for a fail.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

To the only valid point in LJ's post - yes, healthcare insurance is out of control and we need to bring the costs down. Obamacare is not the solution, it's just another layer of Gubment operated crap that only adds cost, reduces the quality of care, and puts the IRS in charge of making sure everyone surrenders what they say you owe to keep the bloated pig that is our current form of Gubment in operation.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I would think in Doggie years, Baxter should be on Medicare with Social security too. Free dog biscuits for Baxter! This is an outrage! :)

Is the dog insurance plan cheaper than the human one?

Should be about 1/7th the cost - They have fewer years to get sick and injured.

Sooo,

When the dog logs on to HealthcareSnafu.gov,
Do they ask for security questions like:

What is the name of your favorite human?
What street is your favorite fire hydrant located on?
What color cars do you prefer to chase?

And how did they get the dogs social security number and estimated income?
Bark once for no, twice for yes?
