No need to look as far as Venezuela to see the future of America under encroaching socialism. Just refer to Oregon:

An 11-year-old girl from Portland, Ore. has been told that she can’t sell mistletoe to help defray the cost of braces, but she can beg for the money on the city’s streets

Everything was going well until a security guard told her that she had to stop selling due to a city ordinance that bans such activity in a park “except as expressly permitted under the terms of a lease, concession or permit.”

What they need to do now is require a bureaucratic permit for panhandling. That way everyone would know that they are truly in need, not scammers and have the proper government verified credentials, sort of like medicaid qualification. Regulations and permits for ALL! LOL

There's a very good reason she shouldn't be selling mistletoe on the streets...

"It is a poisonous plant that causes acute gastrointestinal problems including stomach pain and diarrhea along with low pulse."

Oregon has so many drug users that this stuff could be mistaken for something to ingest or smoke. I think it's a good public policy.

Sometimes the gene pool needs a little chlorine.

Why precisely is she seeking to defray the cost of braces? Isn't that covered like every other healthcare issue under Barrycare? Sure it might take a couple of decades to see an orthodontist but wouldn't it be worth it if it's "free?"

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

 Might cut down on VD too, a kiss under the mistletoe is a gateway drug to unprotected sex.
