HHS "ASKS" Insurance Companies to Extend ACA Deadlines...

That's what I was thinking too Walter... some big IRS audits may be in the futures of those who don't cooperate.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

This hasn't received much coverage in the media at all Rick. No surprise.
Two things come to mind for me:

1. How is it that the Federal Government has final say in determining whether a health insurance company is "qualified" to sell insurance on a state exchange (run by the Feds)? Should not the states have the final say? Especially if they are following the actual written law.

2. Arrogance. If I was the HHS I'd be more worried about keeping insurance companies in the game in 2015, not threatening to not renew them on the exchange. It seems more likely they will bail out like United Healthcare and others already did, given the low sign-up numbers and wishy washey regulations that change weekly via WH press releases.

#Just halarious! LOL

P.S. I have no problem with the insurance companies offering flexibility or extensions to their customers in this government created chaos, it's the heavy handed HHS mob thuggery that is bothersome. Sets a precedent for the future if not challenged.

Rick wrote: I agree LOL, this is a big deal... is this how future administrations will handle new laws? Is the new norm just to allow the president or one of the agencies to "adjust" laws in any way as they see fit? And our worthless congress will be taking tons of time off for the holiday while people (real people) in the insurance industry will probably be working overtime to patch the holes in Obama's boat.

And what really pisses me off is the total lack of coverage by CBS, NBC, and ABC. Do these networks not think this is relevant news? This law effects every citizen in this country and it should be the #1 story every time this administration changes the rules. PATHETIC!!!!

“We are considering factoring into the [qualified health plan] renewal process, as part of the determination regarding whether making a health plan available…how [insurers] ensure continuity of care during transitions,” they write. Which is kind of like the Mafia saying that it will “consider” the amount of protection money you’ve paid in its decision as to whether or not it vandalizes your storefront.
