A Request and an Idea

The request SC, is that we have a Pinocchio emoticon.

The idea is that we use the emoticon to play a little game just to change this up a bit.

So here's how it works (suggestions welcome)... we post just like normal; whatever seems like a relevant or interesting topic. Since we basically call each other liars everyday anyway, why not have a BS rating thread? Someone posts and others either post agree or ignore.... or they post a Pinocchio rating of 1-5. They must explain the rating using whatever sources they want or none at all, being aware that no source means no credibily to counter said Pinocchios. The OP can then counter with other evidence or rational explanation. Then the critic is allowed the last word... then it's over. Obviously, once a debate starts, it shouldn't be interupted as just a general courtesy. Others could then chime in until someone else starts another one... once a rating and justification are posted the debate is started and the poster gets the next word.

Or if this sucks as an idea, can we please have a Pinocchio emoticon anyway?

I like the Pinocchio emoticon idea too.

I'm guessing it would overload the MMT server with all the graphics clogging the bandwidth.

It would have to be a very low resolution, bit-efficient Pinocchio icon graphic. LOL

Interestingly, while searching for examples of a pinocchio emoticon, I ran into another board that had a discussion about the use of this very smiley . Just thought the difference in moderation was interesting, appreciated the open discussion about it, and figured it doesn't hurt to serve as a reminder to not go overboard with it, lest it become harassing. Using it in fun or to knock on the credibility of a source is fine by me, have at it; but if all you want to do is attack another member you don't agree with by using it, please take it to the Ring is all I ask. Thanks!

But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Is this the kind of thing you normally think about, or did you just accidentally doubled up on the Ritalin this morning?

Ridiculous

I changed my mind SC, what we really need is a douchebag emoticon.
