News this week that for well nourished adults, you don't need to add multivitamins.
Will you still take them and why? I will continue to take multivitamins and other supplements because I don't get enough vegtables in my diet.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
I've been hearing this for years, and my doctor has pretty much said the same thing as well. The only thing my PCP and Ob/Gyn insist I do is take calcium supplements every day since I've hit the age when bone density starts to decrease for women and we need to stave off osteoporosis. Exercise is more important though, as that is the primary sensory mechanism that your body uses to decide if you need to be adding bone mass or not - the impact of taking steps walking or running initiates a response to increase activity of osteoblasts (the cells that add calcium carbonate) and decrease osteoclasts (the cells that leach calcium carbonate from bones, because it's critical to keep a certain concentration of free calcium ions in your blood, or your heart and nerves can't function).
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
