The report stated that the picture was taken with the SnapChat phone app. The idea of SnapChat is that you can share photos with friends but they disappear after 10 seconds on your phone.
SnapChat was thinking of adding a feature where you could share the photo for 24 hours but I'm not sure if that option has been added yet.
I'm not sure how anyone could have an actual copy of the photos considering the SnapChat apps limitations.
I suspect there is more to this story then what has been reported.

An article I read said that if a person did a screen capture when they got the pic they could keep it that way.
So, according to this same article, Mom's breasts were covered with her hands/arms. What's the big hoorah? And since her daughter is the one who took the pic, Mom should be considered a victim here. (per her attorney).
When a photograph like this is a stupid prank pulled by one of the other children in the family, it's a crime, but when a professional photographer takes similar pictures, it's art.
