The fate of those horses is not at all clear. It could be the slaughterhouse.

The United States already sends over 90,000 horses to Mexico and Canada to be killed each year.

“Horses that have jobs are the last horses that get neglected,” carriage driver Christina Hansen told the Daily News. “It’s the horses that don’t have jobs that we’re seeing shipped to slaughter.”

The price for sending the 200 carriage-carrying horses of Central Park to a shady pasture would be about $500,000 every year."...

I love horses...And if I was'nt ruled off every pari mutual betting facility in America, and could get a license i'd be training them right now Gulfstream park...I spent my childhood at the race track, hotwalking, grooming and assistant training race horses, and I read the racing form every single day

I made 134K on this race on the great Cigar, (bet 100k) and we paid off our house..It was a sure thing. You can hear Lil Precious screaming by the finish line

Here's my favorite female, the Great Zenyatta- I watched this on a big screen at a sportsbook in Vegas, ..I saw people crying after the race..I cried too cause I had some money on St Trinians, its a handicapp race and they put so much weight on her, I did'nt think she could do it
