We need to reduce the size of fedreral government in order to meet our peoples basic health care and educational needs. We need to slash the Defense department in half, get rid of Homeland Security, the DEA, the ATF, most of the NSA and the dept of Vetrans affairs.

The United States is not served by a democracy but a republic. That "progressives" seem incapable of distinguishing between the two forms of government is one of the primary problems in the Union today. Our soldiers didn't fight for an American democracy, they fought for an American republic. All one need do is look at the recent actions by the Senate to change over 200 years of history in making confirmations of presidential appointees possible by a simple majority to understand that this, a tyranny of the majority, is precisely what the modern day Party of Democrats is all about.
