Colorado's controversial ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines larger than 15 rounds will remain law after a House Democrats killed an effort to repeal the measure Monday night.
Just last week, state Democrats also stopped a Republican attempt to repeal universal background checks on all private and online gun sales and transfers.
Both restrictions were part of a package of new gun control measures signed into law in 2013 by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D).
Though state Republicans haven't accepted the laws, Colorado voters appear to strongly support universal background check legislation. A recent Qunnipiac survey showed that 85 percent of state voters
approve of the new gun law, according to a recent Quinnipiac survey.
When asked about the statewide ban on high capacity magazines that hold more than 15 rounds, voters still approve, but by a slim 49-48 margin.
Oh darn... Don't you hate it when 85% of the total voting population thinks your campaign against universal background checks is B.S.? (And still, by a slim majority, approve of the high-capacity magazine ban...)
I guess sometimes even in Colorado, you can't get the 4-8% of gun-nuts to take over the state.

You mean like Lady Jazzer's neener-neerer's...

The IdiotSon used that a lot to just tell Congress he didn't care WHAT law they just passed, he would enforce what he wanted to, and ignore the rest... I think that was Bush's Brain/Karl-Rove's idea about a "unitary Executive"...
Neener-neener... Bush did it too. What a hypocrite.
The more people know about ACA the more they realize that the teabagger spin on it is a lie... Virtually every story they've tried to trot out about "someone lost their insurance and couldn't find coverage" has been shown to be a GoTP lie, exaggeration, or the person just hated ACA on "general principles" and didn't really look--and all of those sham/rip-off policies are going away...(And, usually, further investigation shows that the person who is complaining is a member of the TeaBaggers or the GOTP...)
And, too bad that 85 percent of state voters approve of the new gun law....
