For couples of differing education levels, women tend to be more educated than their male partners. Nowdays women are more likely to graduate college and get advanced degrees than men but I am a little surprised that it is already showing up in older relationships.
Do you see this in your social group? I do have a couple of male friends with only bachelors while their wives have JD's. Might see more Mr. Mom's if this trend continues.

Since HIGHER degrees equate to more money, I see that women are ATTEMPTING to maximize
their earning power (playing catch up)......STILL 73 cents on the dollar NON parity.

When I was in college, women finance professors were earning twice what their male counterparts were because they were pretty rare in the 1980's.
Civil engineers used to be the same way, but now they are about 50/50 coming into the field, ironically driving down the premium women used to be able to charge.

Economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis surveyed economic literature and concluded that “research suggests that the actual gender wage gap (when female workers are compared with male workers who have similar characteristics) is much lower than the raw wage gap.” They cited one survey, prepared for the Labor Department, which concluded that when such differences are accounted for, much of the hourly wage gap dwindled, to about 5 cents on the dollar.

really bad.
And don't you ever forget that.

As with EVERYTHING, the pendulum swings back and forth......nothing is static...since I grew
up in the 50's and early 60's I see the CLARITY of that concept......(friggin amazing to me that
I am going on 67.....can NOT wrap my mind around that idea)....
