I don't know PS, I've always just called them "suckers".

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Because the Left no longer accepts dissent and doesn't know how to defend their beliefs?

Watching the first episode of Cosmos, one of the tales told of a former Catholic theologian who while studying ancient texts, he came to a theory that the universe was much more than the solar system revolving around the Earth. He was persecuted by the Catholics, Calvinists, and Lutherans for his heresies. Remind anyone of the AGW cult today? Any dissent is dismissed right off the bat. Debate closed.

Lots of assumptions and stereotyping going on here. Speaking for myself, I do not consider myself "The Left", though many would. Dissent and debate is ALWAYS welcome - that's how good ideas, compromise, and productivity keep happening.

AGW is not a cult. Those who argue against it are merely trying to convince you that it is so that you don't take it seriously. It's a valid and confirmed set of observations that have been independently reproduced by thousand of scientists in countries across the globe over decades of time. Every bit of new data that is published is reviewed and if it holds muster, it furthers the knowledge we have. If it can't hold up to scrutiny, it's dismissed. Not for political reasons, but because the science is bad, the hypotheses wrong. Those who aren't doing the science, but have a vested interest in throwing doubts on its information try to make you think that dissenting opinions are silenced in science - not true, they are talking about themselves and the cherry-picked, goal-post-moving claims that they themselves have. The science of climate change has had a consistent message: we are adding to the greenhouse gases and are influencing the climate in a way that is overpowering the natural forces. Those how argue against it have had to move their goal posts as the science has become more and more confirmed. First they said we aren't warming. Then they said oops, it is, but we still aren't causing it. Now some deniers have even admitted we're causing it, but "it won't be that bad" and "it would ruin our economy if we try to do anything about it".

Do you know what question they avoid? How bad will it get if we don't do anything about it? They don't want you thinking about that, and they portray those who project what is to come as "doomsayers" and "cultists" and "scaremongers" who have an agenda.

Have you not stopped and asked yourself what agenda the deniers have?

Have you not pondered why, if what they've claimed before has been proven so undeniably wrong that even they have had to correct themselves, that they aren't still wrong that it isn't serious and we should be doing everything we can to mitigate the coming effects?

Feel free to continue to believe those who have had to keep changing their position because they've got nothing credible to back up their claims, just a vested interest in pushing off what needs to be done now to save their own wallets, rather than those who have stayed consistent over time and have been proven right, time and again.

TM, I second what Rick says. This site reflects the community it serves. It is still mostly conservative, but not completely. If you want more left-wing viewpoints expressed, then bring 'em. No one is moderated based on their political affiliation (or this site would look a hell of a lot different than it does. LOL). Why wait for someone else to participate and bring alternative viewpoints for you? Git r done. :LMAO:

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

That's an Osprey. They fly with their catch (it's a white carp) facing forwards to lessen wind resistance.

SC, any left leaning new posters who may wander through and read the numerous threads started by our right leaning friends here....those where the OP is either a liberal baiting post or a liberal bashing quote, or maybe one of those all too frequent personal attacks on the few resident liberals here, and you tell me....would they find this board an inviting place to post their political views? It is a problem when a message board leans heavily one direction and those in the majority pile on at every opportunity. Sure, that's the way it it's, take it or leave it, but it will never encourage the minority to participate more....quite the opposite.

Archer? Do you think liberals are kinder and gentler? Should they be treated with kid gloves? They shouldn't be called names like Tea-hadist? Nor knuckle draggers?

Archer thinks we play too rough for the modern Leftist. People who have experience on other forums do you think this placeis harsher than most? I am on some other boards where LJ's personal attacks would be considered weak sauce.
