BROADBAND NEWSLETTER

Right now there are two Colorados. One with and one without high speed Internet service. A bill that I am sponsoring, house bill 1328, will provide the funding to ultimately have one Colorado. This bill helps to offer high-speed Internet access to rural areas and improves cell phone service throughout Colorado.

This bill comes at a time when the Internet is increasingly essential to Coloradans. Internet access helps to grow our economy, improves education, supports healthcare and makes our communities safer.

Imagine a ten-year-old girl using the Internet to do her homework in Conifer. If HB 1328 passes, she will have the same advantage as her ten-year-old peer in Denver.

I hope you agree that providing high speed Internet service for people throughout Colorado should be a priority. As always, I love hearing from you. Is service going to be community rated so that those in rural areas pay the same rates as those in urban areas do? That, after all, is the only "fair" solution, right?
