LJ, the passing of 60, 61 and 101 take the bureaucratic spending frenzy away from them, it doesn't stop them from proposing taxes to operate the state. They just need to justify those taxes.
Having read about the damage they will do, and researching from something other than right-wing anti-tax blogs, I'm not interested. I'm also not terribly worried that the Douglas Bruce crowd will be able to garner enough votes to push them through.
You missed the example on 101 at the TEA Party meeting. The State estimates $4.00 cost for registration renewal. They charge hundreds if the vehicle is only a few years old, including the Ritter hike of $25.00/vehicle not including the new late fees. If they charged $10.00 thats still 2 and 1/2 times the actual cost. Why can't the wasteful bureaucrats be more responsible? Because they've always gotten away with it in the past.
Also look at your phone/internet/? bill. They break down the charges, mostly fees and taxes to feed the ever hungry piranha (aka. our government). When they eat a finger do you just keep feeding them more?

From what I hear - the "Douglas Bruce crowd" is ahead in the polls. I think these have a very good chance of passing with a wide margin.
If Colorado can manage to get these passed we will go a long way towards getting the state spending under control, it will give us the best chance at growth for the future.
