RNC: Denver Loses To Cleveland?

The RNC announced today that Cleveland has won out over both Dallas and Denver. Who would want to go to Cleveland in June? Especially compared to Denver.
I guess they think it might get Ohio to vote for the Republican candidate for President since Ohio is an important bellwether state.

I imagne the people of Cleveland are excited and love their town. By the way it is bellwether not bellweather

FYI Fred...

Denver was already out of the mix a week or so ago... "Organizers earlier eliminated bids from Denver; Cincinnati; Columbus, Ohio; Kansas City, Missouri; Las Vegas and Phoenix. "

Denver did not loose to Cleveland, Denver had already lost before the choices were down to Dallas and Cleveland.

Loose?
I know Ohio, was born in Columbus, luckily we got out in the early 70's and I don't have much need to go back. I was a GOP delegate this year but I would think twice about going to a convention in Cleveland. Especially since the national conventions have lost all their purpose with the nominee known weeks before.
RR,
I knew Denver had been eliminated before this week.

Cleveland in during any part of the summer season? No thanks! The city of Cleveland must have offered up some really attractive incentives be the city that the RNC selected for the convention. What those incentive are? I have no idea. Perhaps they cut a deal with Skyline Chili for a bunch of free/cheap chili-mac? That ought to help contribute to the abundance of hot air in the venue!

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Oops! The RNC might have choose too soon. One of the advantages of Cleveland over Dallas is that Cleveland is a bad NBA team and isn't in the playoffs in June, but if LeBron James goes back there, they will be in the playoffs so the delegates will be fighting for hotel rooms with NBA fans and press.

Maybe Denver might get the convention after all, the Nuggets never get this deep in the playoffs.
