Burger King Heads North Seeking A Better Life!

Just like the children fleeing the violence of Central America for better lives in government detention centers, Burger King is fleeing the 40% corporate tax rate in the US for the 26% of our northern neighbor. Bravo to them for having the courage to cross the border into Canada. :barbeque:

Well to be fair and more accurate, Burger King isn't moving because of the tax rate, although that's a big bonus and I'm sure part of the reason. They are trying to buy Tim Hortons which is on just about every corner in Canada, which would make themn the third largest fast food company in the world.

Not widely reported, yesterday's WSJ has an article regarding the plan of Crysler/Fiat 's CEO to move the company to a tax residency in the U.K. and legal HQ in Amsterdam.

First they outsourced the jobs, and now after six years of Obama, the companies are outsourcing themselves.

Too funny, my karma went up by four points after being gone for three days. Maybe if I take a week off, I can be in the positives! :silly:

Well, well. Looks like it is none other than the darling of the statists, Warren Buffet, that is financing the purchase of the Canadian firm. Think that has anything to do with the silence of Obama and others about one of the Union's best known fast food franchises moving its operations to a foreign country? Didn't someone in this administration recently have some harsh words for such companies? Could the fact that Buffet is financing the deal be enough to exempt Burger King from the usual tactics of the statists to stage boycotts of companies that engage in such "unpatriotic" financial deals?

Yeah I thought that was pretty funny. I'm certain the hypocrites will find some sort of excuse as to why Buffet is somehow different than the usual capitalist scum they want eradicated.

Well we know now that tax rates don't matter, (check out France BTW) and forget about all those expats denouncing their citizenship too, and companies checking out. Just preach "you didn't build that", shared responsibility taxes, class warfare, yada yada, $15 min wage, tax the rich, hip hip hurrah's, and enjoy Obama's new part time McJob economy with free Obamacare. Hope and keep the change! Keep up the great community organizing!

Burger King will pay taxes in the USA for its business w/i US but all the International businesses will be paid at Canada rates.

Can you blame any corporation? Less taxes conceivably means more for their shareholders.

Lower corporate taxes and more businesses will stay.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
