"Next Tuesday’s UN climate conference in NYC (called Climate Summit 2014) is for politicians, celebrities, and rent seekers. It’s not about climate science, nor Saving the Earth from “carbon emissions” of fossil fuels.

Here are ten ways to tell the United Nations really isn’t interested in climate per se. Some of us suspected over 20 years ago this would happen, back when the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was being formed to help combat “global warming”....

[sarcasm] Shut up and give the UN our money, we owe it to the planet since 'Merica is the single economy that consumes the majority of all the petroleum on the planet. [/sarcasm]

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Whether it's happening or not, man-made or not, which countries will be willing to tap their citizens to the point where it greatly effects standard or living and the economy? I imagine big poluters like China and India will be more than willing to keep expanding their economies with cheap fuel while they watch us pay the penalty of expensive energy due to increased regulations. How much difference will we make in reducing global warming (if it is warming and it is man-made)if it's mostly us making the sacrifices? Seems a lot like this ISIS thing to me... lots willing to give minimal token support, but not many willing to fire a bullet.

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy

"The Mann with no friends

In the case of the century Mark Steyn notes that not one climate scientist filed an amicus brief for Michael Mann, who has been lauded by some as “taking a stand for science”.

Mark Steyn: “Gotcha. Michael Mann is not doing this for Michael Mann, or even for Michael Mann’s science, or even for climate science. He’s doing it for science. Mann is science and science is Mann.

Well, yesterday was the deadline, and not a single amicus brief was filed on behalf of Mann. Not one. So Michael Mann is taking a stand for science. But evidently science is disinclined to take a stand for Michael Mann.”...

A former high ranking Odumbo official, Dr. Steven Koonin, says the debate and science aren't settled. How inconvenient for the blind faithful.

Pacific Northwest Warming Could Have Natural Roots
Dan Nichols was hauling in a gillnet laden with the fruits of a late-season Alaskan salmon run when something heavy flopped out of it, then slid to the front of his boat. “I knew what the tail was,” he says. Surprised, the mustachioed fishing veteran stopped picking salmon from his net and approached the itinerant sea creature. “I had to stop what I was doing.”

Nichols recognized the skipjack tuna at the bottom of his boat from his time fishing the balmy waters off Southern California and Hawaii. His fish-out-of-tropical-water joined a growing list of examples of locally exotic wildlife showing up in the unusually warm waters that have recently been coursing past the West Coast: A green sea turtle — that venerable visitor to equatorial atolls — was accidentally snagged by fishermen off Northern California. An ocean sunfish was spotted near Prince William Sound, a thousand miles north of its typical range.

What’s been heating up the waters? It’s tempting to blame global warming. Sea-surface and nearby coastal air temperatures in the Pacific Northwest have warmed by 1°F or 2°F since 1900. This September, the waters have been as much as 5°F above average. But a study published Monday by the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean, which is a project of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the University of Washington, points the climatological finger for most of the change at a different culprit.

I'll say it again.......Follow the Money!!!!

Gore and Blood, the former chief of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), co-founded London-based GIM in 2004. Between 2008 and 2011 the company had raised profits of nearly $218 million from institutions and wealthy investors. By 2008 Gore was able to put $35 million into hedge funds and private partnerships through the Capricorn Investment Group, a Palo Alto company founded by his Canadian billionaire buddy Jeffrey Skoll, the first president of EBay Inc. It was Skoll’s Participant Media that produced Gore’s feverishly frightening 2006 horror film, “An Inconvenient Truth”.

And carbon trading is a $100 Billion industry in Europe alone.

Patrick Michaels, director of the Cato Institute's Center for the Study of Science, says "there has been no significant warming trend in surface average temperature" during the last eighteen years.
Michaels spent three decades as a research professor of environmental sciences at the University of Virginia and was a contributing editor to the United Nations' second Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report.
We are about to experience the rainiest year in Conifer this year. And it even exceeds the 500/1000 year flood events of last year.
But with mounting evidence to the contrary, Odumbo and the warming alarmists seek to immediately cut carbon emissions worldwide (before the truth becomes evident).
