Some on the right and some leftist pundits are curious about the timing for the attacks on Syrian rebel groups. They believe it is to make Barack Obama look more presidential and tougher on foreign affairs before the midterms. Right now the Dem party is looked at as much weaker on foreign relations compared to the Republicans, a 30% gap. Bombing other countries can be a high impact, high cost, and low risk way to bring up poll numbers.
Think it will work? Might even turn a couple senate races.
