Is this the same Chris Ladd that wrote for the Huffington Post to preach to the "progressve"l choir?

You, sir, are on my personal ignore. And, I won't belabor the point by sharing this in any other threads.

The bar for offensive posts is getting pretty low.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

This emoticon is available to My Mountain Town members to use along with several other "ignore" emoticons. Because the software doesn't provide for an "ignore" function any longer, this seems to be the only way for some people to get the message (I tried "adieu", apparently to no avail). When someone comes at me the way this person did, I don't feel beholden to try to be nicey nice any longer. I won't engage any longer, nor will I enter The Ring to do so.

Edited to add: Perhaps this particular emoticon should be reserved for those who choose to go into The Ring if it's that distasteful. I wouldn't have a problem with that, but here it is for now.

Or you could just occasionally relinquish the last word

No worries Rick - it's just Z's way of letting all of us know that I caught him with his pants down . . . again . . . and again . . . and again. He didn't think anyone would know who Chris Ladd was and thought that we'd accept Ladd as a conservative just because there was GOP in his blog.

ZHawke wrote: For those who voted Republican in the mid-terms, this OpEd from GOP lifer, Chris Ladd:

He covers a lot of ground, none of which apparently bodes well for the long term for the GOP if one is to believe what he says.

"This Democrat Is Giving Up on ObamaCare
The disastrous rollout of the Affordable Care Act was the catalyst for my party’s midterm thumping.

By BURKE BEU

I grew up in a Democratic family. I have been a registered Democrat since age 18, a Democratic candidate for statewide office in Colorado and a party precinct captain in that caucus state. I’ve volunteered for numerous Democratic candidates and contributed to party causes and campaigns. The 2014 election results were extremely disappointing for me, but hardly a surprise.

I voted for Barack Obama in 2008, then lost my job in the Great Recession. I was lucky; my brother lost his job and his house. I survived on part-time jobs while paying out-of-pocket for my health insurance.

I voted for President Obama again in 2012, then received a cancellation notice for my health insurance. This was due to ObamaCare, the so-called Affordable Care Act. However, I couldn’t afford anything else.

Midterm elections in the second term of a presidency are difficult on the president’s party, and the Obama administration’s crisis-of-the-month headlines weren’t helpful. Ultimately, though, ObamaCare was the catalyst for my party’s midterm thumping."...

So Chris Ladd is not a republican?
He didn't work on several local and state Republican campaigns in Texas? Or voulteer at a statewide republican PAC?
He isn't currently a Republican precinct committeeman in Chicago?

There exists no such animal as a "progressive" Republican in your mind fish? I would beg to differ with you on that point. Revisit my post that you quoted - you will note the distinction between Republican and conservative because there are, in fact, some Republicans who are "progressive" in their outlook instead of conservative. There are a number of them who have been elected to federal office over the years. Olympia Snowe comes to mind right off the top of my head, as does Scott Brown. That is why I pointed out who Chris Ladd wrote for in the past, to identify his ideology as opposed to his political party. The two are not one and the same after all is said and done.
