No mainstream media bias here.......

I would agree - that an "advisor" spoke an opinion about the minions of the left that Obama disagrees with has absolutely nothing at all to do with ensuring, through tortured language, that the CBO didn't score the bill as taxes, with attempting to disguise raising taxes on individuals by taxing something else instead, although the economists, and the authors of the legislation, certainly understood that there was no substantive difference with regards to the ultimate effect on the individuals, and all of the other "revelations" made by Gruber.
Those on the right understood, it was not the right that was being referred to by Gruber's "stupidity of the American voter" comment. No, that comment was directed at the folks who supported the legislation believing the lies being told by Obama, Reid, Pelosi and every other Democrat that stepped in front of a microphone while the legislation was ramrodded through the Congress with no debate and no compromises. But, as Gruber gleefully points out, they would rather have a deeply flawed law than no law at all and so the means to accomplish that end justified any and all means necessary to achieve it.

One thing I have noticed, the Republicans knew the administration was lying but the Democrats didn't. Or were the Democrats lying, too?

Rank and file Democrats or those, like Gruber, who view themselves as the elite within the party? I think the rank and file members were the ones Gruber referred to as "stupid" for being economically illiterate to the point where they didn't understand that raising taxes on businesses is raising taxes on the individuals because businesses are tax collectors, not tax payers. The only tax payer is the individual. Most Democrats still don't understand this basic economic reality even after Gruber explained it to them in one of his videos. I don't think they were lying, just ignorant. Hopefully Gruber's candid remarks cures them of their ignorance, but I suspect that many, like Gruber, would rather have the law than not and are OK with how their ignorance was used to help pass the law.
"Mr. Gruber’s contempt is misplaced. Americans were suspicious of Obamacare from the get go. That’s why Democrats had to use a parliamentary maneuver in the middle of the night to pass it.
I used to think most Democrats in Congress who voted for it really believed they were doing something good for the poor and the middle class. Now I wonder. It’s crystal clear that just about everything President Barack Obama promised about his health plan was false, his deception deliberate. If Democrats really cared for the people harmed by the law, you’d think they’d admit their mistake, try to fix it. They haven’t.
Perhaps they put party loyalty ahead of the welfare of their constituents, are afraid of crossing the president or are as stupid as Mr. Gruber thinks the American people are.
I suspect it’s because Truman Democrats have been replaced by Gruber Democrats — self-styled elitists who feed lavishly at the public trough and think government should serve them, not the hoi polloi they disdain and deceive.

Of course I could make some comments about arrogant elitist republicans but in the context of this thread that would just be a deflection. The democrats own this one.
