Waste of time and money. Reminds me of the flag burning amendment that was talked about years ago.

I feel confident that if any action was required Mossad would have taken care of it decades ago.

Maybe the moral of the story is that our massive government bureaucracy is incapable of knowing who should and shouldn't get a SS check.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Since paying SS to someone for decades who doesn't deserve it is in itself a waste of money, then stopping that waste of money would therefore just be common sense. Common sense rarely seems to be US government policy.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Problem now, given the size, scope and reach of the federal government and all of the various levels and sub-levels of the administrative branch, is that it will probably end up costing the taxpayers more to stop the payments than it saves by stopping the payments . . .

Exactly

Serious statement. You have 435 (very well paid) members of the House, 100 (very well paid) members of the Senate, thier staff, the lawyers researching the issue, the "experts" being paid to "advise" how to torture the language of the bill, the folks who have to publish copies of the bill for all of these people, and republish the bill after it is amended, and publish it again after it is passed, and then you have the costs associated with the committees, plural, in both chambers of Congress and that's just for one branch of government.

Then you have the various cabinet level departments of the executive branch which would be impacted coming up with how the law is going to be implemented, and the public comment period about the proposed rules, and the publishing of those rules, and then the actual acting on the rules which pertain to the legislation. Oh, forgot about the costs associtated with staging the signing ceremoney and the obligatory information appearance a couple of days later in some city the First Lady wants to shop in or the party of Democrats wants to hold a fundraiser in, which of course involves a couple of 747 jets, a convoy of support vehicles, securing of that site for a week or two prior to the appearance by the SS, hotels, meals, per diem and all those associated costs.

And then, after all of that, the judicial branch gets involved when a federal suit is filed seeking to declare that Congress and the president have exceeded their authority, and then the costs of the appeals that will be filed by the loser of the original decision.

And finally, after all of this time and treasure has been spent, we will come to find out that the last person living who the legislation pertains to died in some other country that they were living in after having their citizenship revoked and being kicked out of this one.

Well, I guess the final cost will come when the whole process starts over to remove from the federal code legislation which has become unnecessary . . .
