Rename The Stapleton Neighborhood?

Per the Denver Post today, a group wants to rename the Stapleton neighborhood. They believe it is wrong to have a Denver neighborhood named after a former KKK member. The Denver Post doesn't support the renaming but I don't have an issue with rebranding here. We could call it McNichols instead, one of the last Denver mayors from the political machine days.

So it has been fine till now, the media has got ahold of it and made it an issue. Some people feel it is racist. So where does it stop. I know it stops now. Was never an issue till now so lets just put a stop to all this crap of "well it offends me, or it will offend someone." No different than the Confederate flag, because it was nothing more than a cause after the media really hyped it up. Our country has a lot of history. Some good some bad, but it is history. Learn from it and move forward. For those that feel everything offends them, they have the right to pack their crap up and leave.
