Molly Chilson, assistant district attorney of the 11th Judicial District, announced Monday she is running for district attorney in 2016 for the district.
"Chilson has been a practicing law in rural Colorado for 16 years," a press release states. "She began her legal career as a prosecutor in Colorado's 5th Judicial District and has served as a prosecutor in the 11th Judicial District for 12 years."
"Chilson was named Prosecutor of the Year by the Colorado District Attorneys' Council in 2015 for her work on a gang related homicide within the Colorado Department of Corrections," the release states. "In 2013, she received the Colorado Drug Investigators Association Prosecutor of the Year award for her work in several multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking cases."
The current district attorney in the 11th Judicial District (Fremont, Chaffee, Park and Custer Counties) is Thom LeDoux, who is in his second term.
