Boycotting Fossil Fuels

Why not? When people are upset about people eating and killing animals for any other reason they refuse to buy animal products... meat, fur, whatever. When they don't like a corporation's religious leanings (like Chick-fill-a), they boycott their products, even when the product is superior over those of other companies.

So where is the boycott of fossil fuels? After all, we now have the ability to power everything with the wind, the sun, the water, corn, and even poop and trash. All the highest profile climate change alarmists are the richest of us and they surely have the means to boycott everything made of oil and powered by oil. So why don't they set the example for the rest of us?

And what about the rest of 'us' who believe we are directly killing the planet with every ounce of fuel we burn or convert into some product that takes centuries to decompose... are 'we' really doing everything possible to limit our "carbon footprint"? It's either possible to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels or it's not, but if someone has the ability to change their behavior and still survive, why not do it and be an example for your neighbors? If you believe you are killing the planet, why not get rid of your cars if you live where there is public transportation, and if you don't live in an urban area, why are you so selfish as to live in an area where it's necessary to burn fuel daily just to move your selfish ass longer distances than necessary? Why are you still heating your house with electricity powered by coal or even natural gas if you can afford solar and some heaving clothing?

Where are the real anti-fossil fuel warriors who stand by their convictions? Oh yeah, they buy "carbon credits" then fly their jets across the planet to bitch about the sacrifices other people refuse to take. It just seems to me like there are no good examples of climate change alarmists who are willing (and very able) to cut the cord on fossil fuel usage. Am I wrong?

End Rant.

Great point. Looking at footage of the DAPL site, seeing fossil fuel powered vehicles and empty propane cylinders. So some pipelines and drilling are OK?

I'll convert to solar or whatever if and when it becomes cost effective... same goes for an electric car or whatever "green" products actually are green and are a suitable alternative. Until then, my family drives diesels and my home is powered by they cheapest energy I can find. (which isn't wind or solar).
