"Barack Obama will be the first President ever to not literally depart the scene after his successor is sworn in. It is a powerful image and metaphor, the act of the former President boarding the helicopter (think Nixon and his defiant ā€œVā€s) or the Presidential jet to leave Washington, to literally leave the scene to his successor. Even the perennial gadfly, Jimmy Carter, took that one last ride on the Presidential jet to return to Georgia. Washington belongs to the elected President, not the retired one.

But Obama will not do that. He will drive (well, be driven) a few scant miles to a house in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, where he can watch at close range as his legacy is revealed not to be one. From his front-row seat, he will watch his eponymous healthcare plan be gutted, watch his foreign policy be repudiated, watch his bureaucratic overreaches be reeled in (please God!), watch conservative judges take the bench, watch his immigration policy melt, watch the military cheer his successor as they never cheered him, watch infrastructure funds build highways and bridges (that will not be named after him) instead of disappearing into the pockets of government union members, watch the American energy revival kick into high gear.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.ā€ -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

It seems as though an avid Trump supporter is already trying to make excuses for Trump's future failures. Somehow these failures are going to be in some way, albeit small, part of the reason Trump can't do the most complicated and important job on the planet. Even relying on the people in his cabinet, who will fumble and stumble and be sheep for the media wolves, the mistakes that will be made are somehow supposed to be diverted to Obama trying to manipulate the scene. At least that's what I gathered from this particular opinion piece and it's my own personal take on it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no liberal, I'm just an open minded thinker. Trump is an idiot, and the people in his cabinet are either as such, totally corrupt or both. Trying to point fingers at the Clintons, George W., Obama or any other deflection is pure, unabashed evidence that the truth really hurts. However, I'm man enough to say that Trump is my president. He won the office fair and square, he has the power to choose who he wants in his cabinet and act like a retard on Twitter. I will continue to support my Country no matter who's in office, but I will NOT have people making excuses for things that haven't happened yet or theorETICALLY happen. It's cowardice, plain and simple.

Some Democrats want him to stay quiet too. Takes the voice from upcoming presidential candidates.

I can agree there. Obama needs to exit and be gone. I can't stand Obama, I voted for his first term and not long after regretted it heavily, and more so as the years wore on. I registered as a Libertarian when I turned eighteen and I'll be a hard line Libertarian from now on. But anyway, to say Obama will be stealing the voice of the biggest loudmouth since Nixon with all the social media ta boot seems a bit ridiculous imo.
