This August the DNC has reversed their pledge to no longer take donations from the fossil fuel industry. Time for true enviromentalists to join the Green Party? Some Democrat politicians are not happy with this backpedaling and are still promising to not take money from oil and gas companies.

That's not an entirely precise statement FH. They voted to amend the ban passed in June to now allow donations from individuals and employer's PACs, but the ban on contributions from oil, gas and coal companies remains (from what I understand).

One of the co-authors tried to get the language removed that allowed contributions from PACs but she was voted down. I think that part was a mistake because we need to get all this dark money out of campaigns and lobbying, but donations from individuals should always be encouraged and allowed.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez sponsored Friday’s resolution that allows the committee to accept contributions from “workers, including those in energy and related industries, who organize and donate to Democratic candidates individually or through their unions’ or employers’ political action committees.”

Christine Pelosi, a DNC member who co-authored the June resolution, offered an amendment to Perez’s measure that would strike the words “employers’ political action committees" to discourage donations from corporate PACs. Pelosi said removing that language would reaffirm that Democratic Party’s “commitment to overturn Citizens United and banning corporate PAC money.”

The June resolution, which was unanimously approved at the DNC’s meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, prohibited contributions from oil, gas and coal companies and associations.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
