Exactly wrong. Focus, please. The subject of the thread is not a meeting.

Nyet, tovarishch. But you should respect the surly bonds of reality. For example, an action that does not result in a meeting between the fat kid and the idiot king must be recognized as such.

Brandon,
Your news sources must have neglected to inform you that President Trump and Kim met in Singapore, Jun 2108.

From the NY Times "June 10, 2018

SINGAPORE — Fresh from a contentious global economic summit meeting with United States’ oldest and closest allies, President Trump arrived in Singapore on Sunday for his historic on-again-off-again meeting with the North Korea leader, Kim Jong-un.

Focus, tovarisch. The subject of this thread is an action from last week, not 2018.

Explain.

Are you in a better position to deal with a narcissistic dictator if you can get him to like and trust you? Isn't it better to act like a friend if you want him to change his ways or is it better to let him know that you are enemies and the eventual end game is war?

Trump understands how this works because that's how Trump is. If you attack him with words, he will attack you with stronger and harder hitting words. If you kiss up to him like Lindsey Graham, you're more likely to get what you want when you want it.

I'm not saying any of this will work, but we really don't know what goes on in Kim's little brain so we may as well try a different approach and see if he really wants to join the world economy and prosper or if he wants to commit suicide with his missile program. What's the harm?

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy

Better look at the header, the KING likes KIM. The opening comment by HA says nothing that limits the discussion to the Meeting in Vietnam. You can do better than that, Brandon..

The harm is that based on the state of affairs at the time the idiot king overruled the sanctions, all indications were that he was being played by the fat kid. He gave him a place on the world stage, said he was in love with him, and eliminated or scaled back military exercises with our ally South Korea. In return he got jack.

Maybe things are different in Russia, but here the OP and not the thread title guides subsequent discussion.

Did he? No Korean nukes have been tested since President Trump took office. And no rockets have been shot into the Sea of Japan. The DMZ is being torn down. Under President Obama, nukes were going off, both Hawaii and Japan were being threatened with missile attacks. That doesn't sound like "Jack".
