Election 2019
On November 5, 2019, Jeffco Public Schools will have two of its five Board of Education seats open for election: Director District 3 and Director District 4. Jeffco Public Schools voters will vote on all candidates choosing one per director district.

Requirements for School Board Candidates
  • Must be registered to vote
  • Must be a resident of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election
  • Must be a resident of the director district in which running for office
  • Must not have been convicted of a sexual offense against a child
Once Declared as a Candidate
  • Must meet filing requirements under Colorado’s Fair Campaign Practices Act (FCPA)
  • Must file a candidate’s affidavit with the Secretary of State’s office within 10 days of becoming a candidate
  • Must report contributions and expenditures on the Secretary of State’s online TRACER program by dates due
  • Must file for Nomination Petitions through the Jeffco Public Schools Board of Education/Superintendent Office, 1829 Denver West Dr., Bldg. 27, 4th Fl., Golden
  • Must collect 50 eligible elector signatures and return petitions to the Jeffco Public Schools Board of Education/Superintendent Office by August 30, 4:30 p.m.
  • Petitions are available beginning August 7, 7:30 a.m. in the Board of Education/Superintendent Office and must be returned prior to August 30, 4:30 p.m.

Election Date: Tuesday, November 5, 2019
The election will be held by mail ballot and Voter Service Polling Centers, beginning with the mailing of ballots to voters the week of October 14.

The Board of Education is the policy-making body of the school district. The Board is composed of five members, elected to alternating four-year terms. Board members receive no pay; they give freely of their time to serve the community.
