Here is another way to see the divisive distance between states.....making the map a major factor in our political positions.

WHERE do you (collectively)fit?

FOR RICK... I found this concept to be credible.

FOR RICK... I found this concept to be credible.

I find this to be a steaming pile of crap. I've lived in CO, CA, and AK and have only changed my ideology based on my line of work. When I was a liberal (pre 26) I worked in the restaurant/bar industry. I could have lived in Mississippi, NY, Kansas, or Kentucky and I would have still been a liberal who focused on unfairness and inequity. When I found a way to work for myself and discovered the freedom to succeed that this country offers, I quickly transformed into a conservative thinker (also after working my ass off and paying for my own college tuition). The states I lived in had absolutely nothing to do with my ideological thinking.... especially not today when I live in a state that is headed the way of California, yet I will not budge.

Now do people move to states primarily because there are more people who believe like they do? Absolutely, but how could you ever know what percentage of people do that? Many people are trapped because they are poor and can't move, so they are likely to think more alike as their families stay and multiply.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

1st... you are speaking of your PAST, this is a concept of the present.

2nd 3rd gen. Coloradan, lived in Anchorage BEFORE it was a state (55-65) lived in Conyers Geo. for not quite 3 years, (brain fart, what was I thinking?)but we were relocated from Alaska ( 07-2001) Alaskan's MINDSET is and was totally different than Geo., which leads to

3. southern entrenchment, because of poverty or heritage.....which, by the way, having
NEVER lived east of the Miss.......I found the South (for me) to be uncomfortable and NOT
forward thinking......

I found the concept credible and thought it was another way of looking at TODAYS society,

I find gross generalizations and stereotypes to be as insulting as sexism or racism.

NOT gross generalizations, but rather, personal experience and observation.....in Alaska, had personal friends of color.....in general, military (people of color) found Alaska welcoming and
the "down low" (hidden) was NOT present.

THAT can not be said about Georgia.....''on the down low' was extremely present and was palatable....for those who do not know the term...it is racism that is hidden just below the surface.

That is the definition of a gross generalization.
