The problem with most of these prediction is not that they were wrong. The problem is they forecast not what they thought would happen but what they WANTED to happen.

Saving the world? That is probably hyperbole, but the American economy is doing better than Europe. The home market is so poor there, mortgages are down to 1% and people still aren't buying houses.
