So you are predicting the country will be remade in a different form?

I think some things will change but I expect America to rebound pretty soon after a vaccine finally arrives. Some of the wealth is lost forever, mainly small businesses that will never reopen, but the US is much wealthier than Canada and Greece. I was traveling with Canadians last month and all they did was bitch about how poor they are compared to the US. There will be a lot of demand for new goods and people will want to go on vacations and party at restaurants and bars. Happened after the wars and past pandemics.

I'm hoping we manage to retain the freedoms we still have (many will be lost if a Dem gets elected) and the best change would be to start manufacturing the products we depend on China to supply. Chine needs to pay a heavy price for what they have stolen and for their recklessness in how they lied about this virus. They now know how to easily take us out and it doesn't take a nuke.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I think China's regional officials hid the virus from Beijing. They didn't want to get blamed for it and possibly imprisoned, so they neglected to inform the capital and just hoped it went away.
Once Xi found out about it, he kept up the campaign of underestimating the figures, but he still might have been getting bad figures because the bureaucrats wanted to make it seem like they had a good handle on it.
