I would support this. I know the official line is that the police are worried criminals will be able to use their broadcasts to get away. But I wonder if the real purpose is to prevent the public from getting tapes of them screwing up.
Plus monitoring police broadcasts can help citizens know what areas to avoid or be on the lookout in their own neighborhoods.
