The Clampdown Eases?

Some college football teams are going to start practicing in June. NFL teams have cancelled games in London and Mexico City but do plan to play their normal schedule.

Some people are worried about Covid returning in the Fall like the way Spanish Influenza came back bigger than ever. But maybe this time it will be different. We will have more antivirals and other defenses than they did in 1920. Plus then it was attacking the young, most of the deaths this year have been the old. In some nations even more so, like Italy where over 50% of the deaths were in senior care facilities. Of course this leads to a second question, do we lock up our seniors for twelve more months?

And on a lighter note, if lockdowns help to prevent the spread, why are we releasing convicts?  Put them back in their cells with large amounts of soap.

The lock down fight is now taken to the football field.   By that I mean, University of Iowa, a Big Ten team, has announced the beginning of practice June 1.  The gauntlet is now thrown  done for those Big Ten Schools, in states with extended lock downs, e.g. Penn State, University  of Illinois, Michigan State, University of Michigan, University of Maryland, expect them to appeal to the NCAA that it not fair.
It is going to be very interesting to watch this development.   The implications weigh heavily on the  power of the NCAA over the colleges.  It may very well be the further demise of the NCAA.

Korean baseball Opening Day was this week. I saw some stills, fans are in attendance. Will fans be back in seats by August in the states?
