The U.S. House of Representatives has approved PROXY voting. One representative can cast up to 10 proxy votes. When a proxy vote is given to another representative, that representative can vote the proxy any way that he wishes. Giving a proxy does not direct the vote.
I think it is appropriate to ask our elected 2nd Congressional District of Colorado representative, Joe Neguse (he prefers to be called Joe) whether he plans to vote or give a proxy to another representative.
Two Florida representatives, Christ and Soto, gave their proxies to other representatives. They said it was due to the oncoming health emergency. They then flew down to Florida to watch the scheduled launch of SpaceX rocket. (By the way, it was postponed due to weather).
Thanks for posting this. I didn't know they were doing this. I don't have a problem with representatives voting from home. I think it leaves them less influenced by lobbyists and strong arm tactics from whips, but letting others use your vote sounds like a bad idea.
