I was going to post my own long list of lessons I hope we've learned during this pandemic but I decided it would be more interesting to hear some of the lessons you all think we've all learned or should have learned but probably haven't. So here are a couple to start...
#1. "We" place far too much value on toilet paper.
#2. Shutting down our economy and destroying businesses will cause far more death, poverty, and misery than the virus (my prediction, not a proven fact, yet). I think this was an experimental fix that will prove to be one of the biggest collective mistakes in our history.
Feel free to post your own, disagree with mine, or expand on mine or others. Hopefully we are smarter after this but I have my doubts.

Personally, I learned (confirmed) that listening to scientists just because they are scientists is dangerous. In this case, they have put out contradictory information at every turn - from death rate to how the virus is transferred. Wearing masks will not stop the virus...unless you work in healthcare in which case it is essential. The virus can live on surfaces for weeks - oh wait! nevermind.... We will all be able to go back to work as soon as we all get the antibody test - oh wait! It is less than 50% accurate! Might as well flip a coin....
I had stated MANY times..this is 52 card P.U..NO ONE knows....throwing strands of spaghetti on the
frig to see what sticks.
We are still learning...the curve is STEEP...but,humanity is starting to realize we are ONE species. We
have started to lift the veil of inequality,in health care,in inadequate income,in the price of "just in time"del.
system,in leaders who can NOT lead.
THINK pre 9/11.....we were blissfully BLIND to the terror across the globe(24 hr a day, Every day)and
THEN the veil was lifted and what we saw was RAW REALITY in the form of planes plowing thru two
towering buildings in New York....and the horror of terrorism became REAL for us...the scenario we are presently experiencing is the same....a LESSON. We have a choice, learn the lesson quickly OR leave
the planet. There is no other option.
THE REAL LEADERS are those who are in dire danger EVERY day, attempting to save lives, and those
who are providing U with the necessities of life....food,water,heat,clothes....at a cost to them and their families.

I know you’re not addressing me but I’ll just give my two cents for whatever it’s worth. Maybe he believes in proven science, as I do. If you honestly look at the early predictions and recommendations by doctors and scientists, you’ll see there was a whole lot of changing views and outcomes. There’s a big difference between believing in science which when proven is absolute vs believing in human beings who happen to be scientists.
When I had cancer I had a radiologist tell me that my stage 4 colon cancer was “incurable” and that my best scenario was perpetual treatment to extend my life fe aslong as possible. Fortunately I got a second and third opinion that led to a different treatment which led to remission.
Of course we have to listen to scientists but when they don’t all agree or when they are in uncharted waters, I don’t blame anyone for being skeptical, especially when the prescription (shutting down the economy and destroying lives) becomes more damaging to lives than the virus.
I’m confident our scientists and doctors will find a cure, but I also know how often they have been wrong throughout my life. Scientists and doctors are all flawed humans like the rest of us, we just need to remember that instead of taking in all they tell us as fact.

Well, I guess the lesson that I learned this week is that I can't handle all of the negativity and hate that is spewed forth daily here and on other sites. I'm going to unplug for a while and let my soul recover. Hate isn't something I can deal with on a daily basis.

AS A WHITE PERSON, you have that luxury....imagine 24/7 365 days a year....the dark color of your skin,
creating suspicion and fear....imagine how YOUR safety is not in question every second of the day. I,too,
am exhausted by this.....the DIFFERENCE? If you are not part of the solution, YOU are part of the problem.
GO TAKE A BREATH.....unfortunately for some, THAT is a luxury. Since 2015 the p.d. in question has
used the neck restraint 44 times.... what is wrong with this picture? Have a nice hiatus and consider just
how fortunate you are that U R WHITE.
