Can Someone Explain Why Many Conservatives call Dems the Party of Hate

I think you are looking in all the wrong places. It is Trump supporters who are afraid to say that out loud. It is republicans who give more to charity.

It's hopeless to try and explain anything to someone who can't see what's right in front of them. Apparently I am a racist because I am republican. I'll tell that to my wife....I'm sure she will be disappointed.

How is looking at the policies of the party looking at it wrong? That's exactly where someone should be looking.

Your saying that is the republican party platform. OK, some on the left think the Handmaiden's Tail is part of the republican platform too.

I believe I didn't phrase my post well enough, my mistake. I have been hearing this since before all of the demonstrations. I don't want to get into the protests but it's safe to say that there are bad actors on both sides and plenty of idiots with no ideology other than to riot. My reason for asking was strictly political. Sure, if you want to bring up Jim Crow and the KKK of old that's ancient history, kind of like the republicans being the fiscally responsible party, That's not the case anymore, look at the deficit under trump. White supremacists have become emboldened by trump, and as far as I recall in my lifetime have identified as conservatives. Discrimination against people that are different is what I'm really talking about. People that worship differently (e.g. Muslims), people that are not white enough, people that lead alternative lifestyles, etc. Republicans by and large treat these people with disdain at a minimum and outright hatred at times. I see little to no compassion in the modern republican party. Things like affordable healthcare, equal rights, etc. are so antithetical to the Republican party it makes me see it as the party of hate.

Soo, is there a specific year or maybe day that you are interested in? You don’t want to get into the protests (for obvious reason) and you don’t want to look at the past. Seems to me there’s no point in asking a question if you add so many qualifiers that nobody can answer.

By your logic then it seems that parties, etc. can't change over time. In that case I guess it's safe to say, for example, that nearly all Germans still hate Jews.

I gave examples spanning years up to and including the present. Your logic is somewhat tortured to arrive at that conclusion.

The numbers seem to prove this. Many Democrats who live in high tax states think that gives them an excuse to not give since they are already paying for public schools and homeless programs in the taxes they pay.
And many of the Republican families who give so much to charity are actually giving to their churches, 10% tithes and similar. This still helps many in the community and even the disadvantaged in other nations.

I've never called them the party of hate, but we have seen a whole lot of looking the other way when the hate hits the streets and businesses and communities have been destroyed by hate, hate from the left. If the violence and cop killings are not coming from the left, then why is it that it's the Democrats that are raising money to bail out violent protesters who have been arrested?

If you'll recall way back around 2009 when the TEA Party was formed and actual non-violent protests were common, one dirtbag with a racist sign out of hundreds equated to a racist protest by the left. We were told that all Republicans were supposed to strongly condemn those protests.

I believe the left has been mostly ok with the anti-police hate and rioting because it's causing havoc and fear which the left believes will only help them beat Trump... we've already been exposed to ridiculous accusations that Trump is inspiring the riots and not the Democrat leaders of those cities who just let the mayhem happen.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I just have to laugh when I see this. Trump has been in power for four years, how are we closer to the world of The Handmaid's Tale? I can see no signs. It has been a while since I read the novel, but I can't see any signs. Maybe the Left needs to find a closer book to base a Trump dystopia on?
