Earlier this month, Parler confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that conservative megadonor Rebekah Mercer was the company’s lead investor and agreed to fund Parler only if it gave users control over what they saw on the platform. She recently declared in a Parler post that the site was a “beacon to all who value their liberty, free speech, and personal privacy.” Robert Mercer, her father and a billionaire hedge fund investor, previously invested $15 million in Cambridge Analytica, the political consulting firm hired by the Trump campaign in 2016 and excoriated for harvesting the personal data of nearly 100 million Facebook users. Rebekah Mercer served on the board of Cambridge Analytica.
Another notable funder of Parler is Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and conservative podcast host with a very popular conservative Facebook page. Despite his apparent success on mainstream platforms — Bongino has nearly 3 million followers on Twitter and nearly 4 million on Facebook — he regularly urges his fans to join him on Parle
I still haven't set up an account on Parler. I want diverse opinions, not a bubble of like thinkers, like how college faculties have become. Celebrate diversity! Even diverse political opinions..
HA,
Instead of trusting Vox to tell you about Parler, you should sign up yourself and take a tour of the dark side. It might be illuminating, pardon the pun.

“I think there is a serious problem, honestly, in the country because there is a bigger issue here and that is that America and its universities really need to allow, without attack, without rebuke, without intimidation, the free exchange of ideas,” Atlas said. “It is from the free exchange of ideas because it from the free exchange of ideas that scientific truths follow and these scientific truths are critical for us to solve this crisis. Free exchange of ideas is honestly the foundation of every civilized society.”
This hindrance of freedom and cancel culture peddled by the mainstream media, Atlas said, should concern everyone."...
Parler doesn’t run algorithms that limit you if you’re conservative. Parler allows speech they don’t agree with. They don’t allow porn. There is a button when you post that allows you to flag your own post as sensitive and that may get set for you if there are complaints. It is a much better platform that Twitter for freedom. I actually got banned from Twitter for saying that child rapists should be castrated. Twitter is a joke and not even a good one.
