Anyway, I apologize for posting something that I thought was obviously a joke. I hope humor can return at some point because I love making terrible jokes and making people groan.

As I understand this Texas lawsuit, it’s goal is simply to ask the Supreme Court to tell states that they have to follow their own constitutions and not make up election law on the fly bypassing their legislatures. The goal is honest elections, not an overturn although that could conceivably be baked in. That’s why I think the SC will turn it down - because they don’t want to be seen a choosing a president.

Ah, ok. Lol makes a bit more sense than what I originally thought...

I think you’re probably right but not because of constitutionality, but rather just because the SC doesn’t want to look bad.

Of course not acting will likely set up a civil war as well...

If the Supreme Court rules in favor of Texas, that means that all the down votes will also be thrown out. It's only logical.

Right. It would be thrown to the state legislatures to appoint electors. That’s basically the root of the entire case. The state legislatures were responsible for making election law and others usurped that responsibility due to Covid.

That would mean that all the ballots in those four states are "illegal" and no candidate, for any position, was elected.
