The point here is that Rubio, Graham, and other Republicans that have received the vaccine downplayed the virus threat, and yet they are virtually first in line to get the vaccine.
You really want to set up that precedent in medical care? The new triage will be in your world, this guy didn't wear a seatbelt so we will treat him last even though his head is bashed in. Instead we will treat first the people who were wearing their seatbelts and only have scratches and scrapes. Sounds fair, but doesn't sound right.

I tend to agree koobookie. Either you believe the virus to be dangerous enough to get a vaccine or you don’t unless you happen to fall into one of the at risk categories.
Fred, that’s a poor comparison. It would be more like giving a seatbelt to those who believe them useful before those who don’t.
I'm not setting precedent for medical care, Fred. I'm merely saying that those who say the wolf is not dangerous should not jump the line to get protection from the wolf.

Even if by doing so are setting a good example for other Americans?

You know what would be a good example, Fred? If Joni Ernst, Marco Rubio, et. al., said, as they were receiving the vaccine, "I was wrong about the virus. It is bad. It is lethal. Get your vaccine as soon as possible, and here's how you get it."
While the hypocrisy is frustrating, I have no beef whatsoever with our U.S. and state Congressional representatives receiving the vaccinations as a high priority group. The safety and security of those who lead our nation are high priority, no matter what their personal beliefs or our distaste for their politics. Our enemies would enjoy, and take advantage of, the opportunity of our government being in disarray with a number of seriously ill Congress critters and/or President. They have critical bills and security issues to address daily, and like it or not, the daily functioning of our society depends on them being functional (such that they are).
Edit to add: I also appreciate that even though some have downplayed this virus and science in general, I applaud them setting good examples by publicly getting the vaccine. Partisan politics does not trump the issue that we need a majority of the population choosing to get vaccinated so we can move past this and vaccine hesitancy is far too high for my liking. Dr. Fauci estimates we may achieve herd immunity around March with these vaccines rolling out and that means we can get back to having events in the summer again. IDGAF if that means Marco Rubio gets vaccinated before me or not so long as we both are, along with over 65% of the population (rough guestimate on my part assuming that at least another 20-25% are already immune due to contracting the virus itself).
