COME ON IN - THE BORDER'S OPEN

The current administration is now allowing the borders to be open. These "migrants" are not being tested for Covid, but more importantly not for TB, and other infectious diseases. Is anyone on this thread comfortable with that decision?

I heard of an interesting proposal the other day about immigration, offer citizenship to any foreigner who graduates from an American university. America would get talented immigrants this way. Many would still want to go home, but I think large numbers would accept the offer.

If it stopped there maybe but amnesty for the tens of millions already here illegally is a step to far. Open borders is almost a call for insurrection. If Biden tries to push gun control through executive order, expect uprisings. There was a reason they locked down DC and it had nothing to do with January 6th other than using it as an excuse.

It will be interesting to see how they move on amnesty. It is pretty unpopular across the nation. With unemployment high, voters from both parties hate the idea of having twenty million illegal aliens compete with them for the remaining jobs.

Maybe they will do it like the minimum wage hike? A little bit at a time? Letting in only one or two million per year?

Just curious where you got the 20 million figure. I’ve heard estimates between the 11 million they’ve been using for decades and 80 million.

20 million? Just an educated guess. Giving amnesty to 100 million new Americans when our population is only 330 million would be quite the challenge. It would help solve many of the current issues we have with an aging population. Tens of millions of young people to pay into Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.

Or draw from social security and medicaid...

Sounds great except for the fact that we know American taxpayers would have to subsidize most of them and colleges would do what they always do and just keep raising tuition.
