NEW YORK — The wife of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio wants citizens to personally “physically intervene” to stop violent crimes, nine months after she convinced her husband to get aboard the “defund the police” movement by redirecting money from police to “youth initiatives and social services.”

Shootings in New York City doubled in 2020 and were up 75 percent last month compared to a year prior. Burglaries have also increased, and violent, unprovoked crimes against Asians have become endemic, Daily Wire reported.

NEW YORK — The wife of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio wants citizens to personally “physically intervene” to stop violent crimes, nine months after she convinced her husband to get aboard the “defund the police” movement by redirecting money from police to “youth initiatives and social services.”


Shootings in New York City doubled in 2020 and were up 75 percent last month compared to a year prior. Burglaries have also increased, and violent, unprovoked crimes against Asians have become endemic, Daily Wire reported.

“As attacks on Asian American communities continue, we’re asking New Yorkers to show up for their neighbors and intervene when witnessing hateful violence or harassment. I know that can be frightening when you aren’t sure what to do or say, but you can learn,” New York City’s First Lady Chirlane McCray wrote on Twitter March 6. “Fear is a normal feeling when stepping into a confrontation, but being prepared can help.”

LOL, and here I thought AOC was the dumbest woman in NY. I love the part where she says " I know that can be frightening when you aren’t sure what to do or say, but you can learn,” . So New Yorkers are asked to learn in real time when trying to help someone being assaulted. Sounds like a great plan, but of course you're not allowed to defend yourself or the victim you're trying to help with a gun.

This is just an extension of the ignorant notion that police officers can often be replaced by social workers who can talk criminals out of committing a crime. FFS we are living in a figgin nightmare of idiots.

Her message must not be resonating. Support for "Defund The Police" is down to 18% in the latest polls. Personally I am not a big fan of police, they are a necessary evil, but I prefer them to criminals and mobs.

So true. I was recently in New Orleans and heard police sirens all night. Never hear them in South Park.

Well you're lucky, and I'm gone in a year to higher places myself. You should also know I have a lot of friends in the police force and they are all some of the best people you would ever meet. These guys have a really tough job, especially in this unjust environment of being branded by the actions of the few.

This fool of Major and his idiot wife are destroying NYC because of their view of police and defunding. The men and women who risk their asses for us every day deserve far more respect than a Commie Mayor and his brain dead wife.
