President Biden's team is thinking of banning imports of rifles and magazines over ten rounds from overseas. There is precedent for this. Bush "41" banned imports of certain rifles and shotguns during his time in office. Clinton banned imports from China of pistols, rifles, and ammunition.
He wouldn't need congressional approval to get this done.
Bright side? It would help gun companies in the US. They wouldn't have to face competition from foreign suppliers. And it would help create more manufacturing jobs in the industry. So the NRA and other gun rights groups might only offer token opposition to this executive order.
