Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttieg is floating a tax to add to our federal and state gas taxes. This would charge Americans for every mile they travel per year. On the plus side, it would make people with electric cars pay at least part of the cost of roads and bridges. But there are a lot of things to consider. Would you have to create a new bureau of federal employees who would inspect your car every year for both their mileage and pollution content? And would this new tax be unfair to rural people who already tend to be more poor than urban Americans?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Horrible idea!! Lets give the government more ways to crush our rights and track us. As a mechanic, I know how to disable many odometers (not all), but I'm sure the gov will require some sort of tracking device that would be a mandatory install. This country would become China over time if Democrats keep power too long.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Mayor Pete's trial balloon was popped by Team Biden. They announced today they they are not looking to add a mileage tax next year. Good choice if you want to win an election in rural states next year.

They govern by polls, not logic.
