She was ordered to stop. She and other insurrectionists continued to fight Capitol Police and batter down the door to where the lawmakers were crouching, and yet, she ignored them.
The officer was protecting lawmakers from a crowd that had crossed or destroyed numerous barricades and was about to breech the locked-down room.

But you already know this.
As far as I'm concerned every single one of the insurrectionists that made it into the capitol building should have been shot. Then again they were all white so that would have been the wrong thing to do. I'm quite sure it would have happened if they were black. Just sayin.
The strategy of storming an OFFICIAL BDLG that does OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT BUSINESS,let alone,
the "act" of insurrection, in attempting to STOP THE PEOPLES VOTE/WILL is grounds to be shot on sight..
AGAIN, the catastrophic incident is unparalleled in modern times...we,as a nation, came extremely close to
DESTROYING democracy....IF U(collectively) can not comprehend that concept...I feel there is NO HOPE for our country, civil war looks more and more likely....(THIS was an in side job by a few nonferrous agents,
who sided with "stolen election"..... it is UNLIKE BENEGAZHI, because that incident was a series of
misunderstandings. THIS was purposeful, pre planned and poisonous.
As the Capitol was overrun on Jan. 6, armed supporters of President Donald Trump were waiting across the Potomac in Virginia for orders to bring guns into the fray, a prosecutor said Wednesday in federal court.
The Justice Department has repeatedly highlighted comments from some alleged riot participants who discussed being part of a “quick reaction force” with stashes of weapons. Defendants have dismissed those conversations as bluster. But in a detention hearing for Kenneth Harrelson, accused of conspiring with other members of the Oath Keepers militia group to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s election win, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey S. Nestler said the government has evidence indicating otherwise.
“This is not pure conjecture,” Nestler said. In a court filing this week, he noted, prosecutors obtained cellphone and video evidence from the day before the riot showing that Harrelson asked someone about the quick reaction force. He then went to a Comfort Inn in the Ballston area of Arlington for about an hour before driving into D.C., prosecutors said. The day after the riot, surveillance video from the hotel shows him moving “what appears to be at least one rifle case down a hallway and towards the elevator,” according to the court records.
BTW, Trump never drained the swamp, he re-filled it. After promising to “drain the swamp” of corruption in Washington, DC. Instead, he not only brought his own corruption and that of his family to the nation’s capital. He also opened the door of his administration to a whole slew of influence-peddlers, scam artists, and sleazy lobbyists.
Where did this bloodlust evinced in this forum come from, for example,

And we have the sanctioning of killing an unarmed female veteran because she purportedly refused to obey a police officer's order to stop.
I wonder if the latter will be used as defense in the Wright case, the shooting death in Brookly Center, MN.
HERE is the intention, HERE is the reason she was shot dead,HERE is the reason THIS travesty is
bringing this nation down....."nothing will stop us, they can try and try"......enough said....THEY ALL SHOULD
BE JAILED, damn lucky they were not shot....SELAH....pause and reflect
With a wrongful death suit filed in civil court, hopefully the facts will come to light. If this brave officer was doing his job by killing this unarmed female then he should be name and commended by the Jusice Dept. Don't you think?
Lots of conjecture, as to be expected in the Wapo article cited, for example:
" asked someone about the quick reaction force" Who?
"“what appears to be at least one rifle case " Where is said rifle case?
How was that officer supposed to know that Babbitt was unarmed? She was trying to break into the Capitol building, along with a mob, some of whom actively called for harming our elected officials. While her death was saddening, she made a choice to do something she shouldn't have and suffered the consequences, just as those who disobey the police on the streets and are shot to death while unarmed.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
