Speaker Pelosi and Schumer want to add in the new tax bill a clause that lets the citizens of high tax states like California and New York deduct local and state taxes. The GOP and Bernie Sanders don't want this to pass. Sanders finds it hypocritical for Democrats to want to raise taxes on the wealthy but then allow the wealthy a huge tax break like this.
I really have to applaud the Vermont socialist for choosing his principles over the party line.
